About me
I inherited my love of gardening from shadowing my dad from a young age. My dad grew up in the depression era so he valued growing things you could eat - all sorts of vegetables. I remember many springs planting potatoes and sweetcorn. He eventually let me plant a few flowers along the edge of his four gardens, however, we had to save the seeds from year to year so I remember having only purple zinnias for many, many years!
He eventually gave in and let me plant other types of flowers so I remember planting nasturtiums and even a variety pack of zinnias!
I fondly remember my dad paging through the seed catalogs during cold January days.

Once I had my own house we installed our own foundation planting and trees and over the years expanded to add a rose garden and other perennial beds in the yard. My dad never understood why I didn’t put in a vegetable garden!
